This game works with: SheepShaver,

First in the series of comedic trivia games. Supports 1 to 3 players.

Other games in this series: Volume 2 (FR, UK, US), Volume 3 (DE, US), The Ride (DE, US), Offline, Louder! Faster! Funnier!, Movies, Sports, Television, Head Rush

This CD-ROM contains files dated January 1997. I verify this later pressing works in OS 9 and OS X Classic. But in OS X Classic, installer might stall when dealing with System components (Extensions and fonts). To use in OS X Classic, choose to install only YDKJ game, not "Full Installation (recommended)". So, this edition should allow you to get your fix of FLICKERPISS NOSESCUM by using any PowerPC Mac (but not OS X 10.5 Leopard).

The 4th Download-internal server is a special edition released in 1999 with some content removed to ensure that the game is family-friendly and for all ages (hybrid Mac/PC).

The 5th Download-internal server is a full version of the 1999 release (hybrid Mac/PC).

The 6th Download-internal server is the XL version, with 400 additional questions adding up to a total of 1200 (hybrid Mac/PC). Created using ImgBurn on Windows 10.

Architecture: 68k PPC x86 (Windows)

I had trouble running this in Classic - it turns the sound all the way up when it starts, and when you turn it down again you mess up the game. It runs in Basilisk II, but the sound is bad; you may need a fast computer. I haven't tried it in SheepShaver.

The XL version appears to be incompatible with OS 9.2.2. It ran successfully in OS 8.6.

I was just wondering, if the XL and Censored (v1.5) versions of You Don't Know Jack Volume 1 are both incompatible with Mac OS 9.2.2, will both of these versions work under Mac OS 9.0.4 (using SheepShaver) and Mac OS 9.1? I need to confirm. Also, most of the You Don't Know Jack games on the Macintosh Garden (they all run on the same engine) will need to be checked using SheepShaver, Basilisk II, and QEMU, as they are untested if you plan on running them on a modern Mac.

I've uploaded the XL version of You Don't Know Jack, which contains 400 additional questions making a total of 1200! I've used ImgBurn on Windows 10 to make the ISO, and it is a hybrid too, as I found that out in the jewel case manual! Hope it works!

Thank you mrdav for uploading the Censored Edition of You Don't Know Jack! I've requested that edition to be uploaded from the forums a while back. AFAIK I only tested the Censored Edition on Mac OS 8.1 using several Macintoshes that I have with QuickTime versions varying from 3.0.2 to 5.0.5, but not on anything above 8.1. Again, Thanks a lot!

Hi Dax, have you played the newest (2011) YDKJ? It is PC only I believe, but I have played it under Linux using WINE, and it runs perfectly. This leads me to think it will run smoothly under Mac OS X with a WineSkin or CiderX wrapper.
