"The first of three Wayne Gretzky games from Bethesda. It contains everything that could be found in a hockey rink, from big hits and fighting to icings and offsides. It's not only about what is on the ice but also outside, offering the player plenty of coaching options and gives you the ability to create your own players and teams." --MobyGames.com
The follow-up games apparently did not appear on Macintosh.

waynegretzky_1_0bw.zip / (MD5: dc2a834f989d932246b59ab398f8cdc8) has been scanned and disinfected. New image is packed with StuffIt 6.

waynegretzky_1_0bw.zip / (MD5: dc2a834f989d932246b59ab398f8cdc8) seems to be infected with an OSX/Wdef.A virus. Might be a false positive, but I'm reporting as we're better safe than sorry.
I obtained this game on original media, but only the monochrome version, so I've uploaded that as the first archive and it includes disk images and pdf scans of the package and manual. The second archive above is still the same, it has what was originally uploaded to this page including the color version. External link is for the new b/w archive.
This really needs to have separate color and black-and-white installations, so the second archive is a repackaged version of the original archive, with one DiskDup+ image each for color and mono. The monochrome version works with Mini vMac; the color version requires 4-bit color and probably would work best on a Mac II series.
Also added some information to the archive for other versions of this game that should apply to this one.
There are PICT files included in the archive with the copy protection codes. Haven't had any luck so far getting the game to run without crashing, though I still have some things to try. It's copyrighted 1990 so it probably doesn't like SSW 7 or some extension or another.

I believe (but am not sure) that I overcame that issue by guessing.
i cant acces it unfortunally, need a manual for the protection
This seemed to crash my Basilisk II setup running Mac OS 7. It didn't crash SheepShaver running Mac OS 8.6, although it runs a bit too fast. This can probably be overcome by disabling the JIT features in the SheepShaver GUI.
