The game's player app requires Mac OS X v10.0 or later. It also requires the 'baseq2' game files from the retail version of Quake II to run. These can be the game files from either the Classic Mac OS or the PC version, both will work. Additionally, a graphics board that provides accelerated OpenGL rendering if you want to use the OpenGL renderer instead of the software renderer.

Incidentally, Fruitz of Dojo is a group also responsible for a really cool Mac OS 9 (and earlier?) demo called Super SIDekick v1.0. It is one of my favorite Mac OS demos. I don't have the link to their old website right now, but it shouldn't be too hard to find. (If anyone really wants it and can't find it, let me know and I'll dig it up.)

It's interesting to browse through their website via Wayback Machine using different time periods, as they had a lot of goodies there, but some would disappear or be replaced at later times (which is where the Wayback Machine comes in).
