Guides on emulating older games

This should have been released by MicroProse Software in the mid 90's but apparently it got "bogged down in legal wrangling". The game was 95% complete and uses the Macromedia Director engine. It's a click-and-point adventure/mystery game, featuring psychedelic visuals and cryptic puzzles. The game is played from the perspective of an unnamed character journeying through the mind of one Professor Necrobius, on a quest to uncover the secret to preventing the death of their planet. A demo was released alongside the July 1995 issue of PC Gamer magazine. The creator released it as freeware in 2014. (Adventure Legends)

The disc image contains both Mac and PC versions of the game.

I was able to beat this very confusing game using the original production notes provided by the creator:

Towards the end, the game is missing a couple of flags that are needed to finish the game, so you will have to skip scenes by renaming some of the files around. I don't remember exactly which ones but if you download Macromedia Director you can go in and look at the files. The ending and credits ARE viewable this way.
