There appears to be a fix. Larry 1 with AGI 2.06 works in 16 colours, on Basilisk II with some issues, works without errors on my LC 475 in 24bit mode. So keep an eye out for 2.x releases, only the interpreter seems to have changed (1991 date stamp), the other files and game version appear to be unchanged. Like Damnathan had no luck getting this to work on an actual Mac LC. I've tried it both under System 6.08L and 7.1. Colors set to 16, 640x480. Tried 32-Bit adressing on / off via the memory panel. Still, it would start but display the game screen on the upper left and right corners in the size of a stamp. That's a picky one. Guess you'd really need a Mac II if you wanted to play it on real hardware.

Is this the "deadliest" of all King's Quest games? It feels like Smile

I found out the reason for the issue with the color versions, it appears to be a incompatibility caused by the move from 24-bit to 32-bit quickdraw. The issue was never fixed, see section 2 at:

Tried this on an LC running Mac OS 7. Technically runs, but the display gets all futzed up. My copy says that it supports color on a Mac II, though. Disk boots System 5.

Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' with 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User

I think this game also works in Basilisk set to 16 colors.
Someone could check this, please.

I remember playing this game with my dad, it was freaking hard! Trying to get down the mountain and back up in time, holly freaking cow.
