Scott, you misunderstood me, the files don't have a virus. It's just the upload mechanism that looks at file names as they are being uploaded and it automatically injects an "underscore" in the file name if it detects filenames that have multiple 3 letter suffixes like .zip.001, etc.

Really it should only do this to file names that have executable suffixes in the file name such as .exe.jpg or .exe.png, etc, and it certainly should not do this on file names of part files like these .zip.001 etc file names.

Anyway it's no virus in the file, its just how the upload machine in the Garden treats file names with multiple parts. It's being pre-emptive to potential risks. But it should be tuned down a notch or three with regards to part files.

Anyway, it's easy to "fix" the file names manually, as I said previously - Just remove the "_" underscores from between the last ".zip" and the ".00x's" at the end of each filename. Have all parts in the one location, then get your unarchiving program to unzip the first ".001" part.

...the name of the files is WRONG!

Wrong... but easily fixed. Just remove the "_" underscores from between the last ".zip" and the ".00x's" at the end of each filename. Have all parts in the one location, then get your unarchiving program to unzip the first ".001" part.

It's not the fault of the uploader, either. It's the fault of the engine that handles uploads to the site. The site places an underscore into every filename it encounters that have multiple ".xxx" file name endings as they are being uploaded. It does this to "protect" you, the downloader. It's reason being that this file being uploaded could be a potential (virus) risk and throwing the underscore into the file's name would prevent that file from auto-unloading any payload on the site's archive and on anyone who downloads the file.

Cleverer file naming before uploading gets around this enforced underscore, but for part files, it's always been an issue.

Anyway, you'll find several more examples like this throughout the site, especially when you come across part files, and the easiest way around it is to manually edit the filenames as you download them.

The problem is the name of the files is WRONG!
The Join operation need the correct names.. (Pippo.zip.001,Pippo.zip.002,Pippo.zip.003..)
In this case 2 files have 2 underscores __ and not 1 _ in the name..., for fix:

Does one download all four parts? If so, how does one reassemble into one image?
