Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition
A full install of Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition CD edition for 68k & PPC Macintosh - minus the music files in the top DL. This archive also contains a "No CD patch" so you can install and run the game without a CD loaded to enable play.
A note about the downloads available above:
- Top DL for DN-3D installer (35.18 MB) of the game only (without music files)
MD5 checksum: 5be0c993089009c2db1e7d983db9a52e *duke-n-3d-mac.sit
DL is a Disk Copy 6 ".ISO" compatible disk image, in StuffIt 5.5 archive (.sit)
- The 2nd DL above (6.01 MB) is a demo version of Duke Nukem 3D,
which comes as 68k application, but installs a PowerPC application only.
- The 3rd DL above is a full .ISO image made off an original Duke Nukem CD (screenshot above),
including music files
- The 4th DL is an OS9 NoCD setup that includes a launcher that automatically mounts and unmounts the disk-image before and after play and provides a convenient way to select either normal Duke 3D Atomic Edition, or Duke it Out in D.C. Sound and Music all work perfectly. Does NOT work in OSX.
Requires that you place the enclosed Duke Nukem 3D folder inside a folder called Games, inside the Applications folder that MUST be named Applications (Mac OS 9). Is a bit of a hassle, but was created in Applescript for OS9 that is not able to do relative paths as easily as OSX.
'Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition' Mac CD image
Duke Nukem PPC.iso (442.2 Mb, No compression)
For Mac OS 7 to 9, including music files
*** for anyone wanting to play Duke on a PPC OSX: This installer is great (perfect sound, music and such). Graphic quality is a bit less smooth, but it works well overall.***
Compatibility
Architecture: 68k PPC
Architecture: PowerPC and 68040 ('040 68k) CPUs
Minimum requirements: Macinintosh 68040 CPU, or any PPC CPU. Mac SSW 7.1 to Mac OS 9.2.2
Runs well on Basilisk II and SheepShaver emulators (mouse control is not so hot under emulation tho').
NB To install on 68k Mac you have to choose the Custom Installation and check the 68k box & uncheck the PPC box (in the custom install dialog window).
Run in 256 colors.

Is there a sourceport that uses ogl/rave that works with OS9?
OSX but no OS9 http://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/mac/
What contains the 5th download? Is any of the images hybrid?
BTW for anyone wanting Duke on OSX - this works really well: https://macintoshgarden.org/games/duke-nukem-3d-os-x BUT the graphic quality isn't as good as in OS9 (a lot more aliasing), but sound/music are great.
I have a cracked build for OS9 with music, that also includes "Duke it out in DC" and auto-mounts the image. Let me see if I can get it packaged-up for the page.
If anyone can figure out how to get the music working without needing to mount the ISO, please, let me know.
I would love this as well. Thanks!
I would like this! And any way to get sound in Mac OS X?
If ANYBODY wants it, I setup a special version of Duke for OS 9.2.2, that uses an Applescript launcher to go into either "Duke Nukem Atomic Edition" or "Duke It Out in D.C." without the CD and it has FULLY WORKING Music!
The only limitation is that the "Duke Nukem 3D" folder must be in a folder called "Games" inside of the "Applications (Mac OS 9)" folder.
Can post if you all are interested.
I'm sure I remember the option to add bots in the netconfig and just play with them. Was this perhaps added in a later version? Or am I imagining it. I'm REALLY sure it was an option, though.
To use with eduke32, rename the file "Duke3D Group" to "Duke3D.grp".
If anyone needs this classic fix to Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition.
This patch will fix your game running in classic.

Thank you, IIGS_User, for adding it to the internal server.
Thanks, MTT,
I've catched the file and do upload it's up now.I am having trouble using mouse targeting running the game under Mac OS 9. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks Euryale. Any chance of doing something similar with your copy of the Carmaggedon CD (maybe bin/cue to get game and audio together)? I am happy to host both your file here, and a suitable Carmaggedon image, in a more "permanent" manner.
Euryale you are aewsome
Yes, thank you. This is an excellent game.
However This CD iso is for both PPC and 68k! - I'm not complaining. This is a bonus!
I just installed it on my Centris 660av - You need to do a Custom install to get the 68k option.
The title above needs changing, as do the PPC only architecture ratings(Edit 2 - done). five stars from me[Edit] 68k here means 68040, it won't run on earlier 68k CPU's. It also runs on Basilisk II (set to 256 colors, running as an '040 Mac) - Just tested this out too. - it runs much smoother on my Basilisk II setup up than on my actual Centris
Can´t believe this one is still up on Megaupload
I had forgotten about it.
I have graphical corruption if I clean up the last secret area in E4L1 when using high resolutions and it stays unless I save, exit and load it again. Is it normal?
