Diskworld is a point and click adventure primarily based around Terry Pratchett's novel 'Guards! Guards!' and augmented with material from other books in the series.
While this title does occasionally tend to suffer a bit from oddly specific and un-obvious puzzle solutions that plague the genre as a whole, Diskworld is otherwise a good looking, brilliantly voiced, and incredibly funny adventure that lives up to it's source material.
Unfortunately, this game will not run on later versions of the MacOS, and the reason behind this is unknown.
The 1st download is the Discworld Game CD.
The 2nd download is the Discworld Updater.
This is a Mac-only CD-ROM.

I didn't know there was an update. It was running perfectly on my Macintosh LC475 but not on my Performa 6116CD. I copied the game to my hard drive and i downloaded the update file and it worked.
Thank you YYsMG for the new image, already working much better!
Its happening to me too with a retail CD on a G3 PowerBook. I guess its either the G3s were all using or (more likely) OS9 that it doesn't like
My experience is the same as the original uploader. Mounts OK on an iMac G3 mac OS 9.2.2 but dies soon after the game starts. Maybe it would be OK if I used the updater but the updated application cannot see the mounted disc image (looks for the actual CD) and I haven't tried a real CD.
@mathieudel: I was able to copy the image contents without error with the above configuration.
The disc image seems to be corrupted :
* Using Disk Utilities from Yosemite to mount or convert the toast image fails.
* Using Toast Titanium 14 from Yosemite and trying to mount the image fails.
* Using Toast Titanium 5 from OS 9.0.4 under SheepShaver to mount the image works, but trying to copy the content of the image to another location fails for all files except the application itself and those starting with letters A to D.
The game crashes in the beginning when played on some PPC models, while working fine on others.
An official update was released by Psygnosis.
It's too hot for me to look for the copy I got directly from Psygnosis, but searching the net revealed a working link: http://www.lspace.org/ftp/games/discworld/discworld-update.sea.hqx
