Discover the World II is an edutainment title which allows you to take on the role of an sailor in the Age of Exploration, including such famous names as Sir Francis Drake. You start in Lisbon, Portugal and sail from there, on a mission to cross the globe, trade with foreigners, hunt for food, and defend yourself against marauding pirates. The game gives you a variety of missions, often instructing you to obtain some exotic trade goods or to sink the ship of an evil pirate.

For PC (Windows 3.1/95) and Mac OS 7.1 to 9.2.2

The main interface is a world map, which allows you to direct your ship to anywhere in the globe. However, as you sail your sailors consume food and will get scurvy if you don't stock sufficient fruit and vegetables. As you go around the world, you can hunt for food or trade with people and obtain native crafts that will sell well back in Lisbon. Also, if your ship is overburdened you can bury treasure and other things at any place on the globe for future retrieval.

I suppose I could burn it to a CD first rather than try to simply go through a virtual driver, but in burning the iso, Basilisk II tells me the disk is locked.

Can you try to use the Basilisk GUI application to add this CD image, instead of Toast?

The iso image is fine. It is a hybrid Mac/PC image like the other image you had trouble with. You must be doing something wrong.

This thing freezes Basilisk II when I try mounting the iso with Toast Deluxe 4.3.1. The iso seems to be corrupted.

Runs on the latest OS X version of Basilisk II. Was running with Mac OS 7.5.3 and an LC 575 ROM.

Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' by 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User

Anyone check this with Basilisk, please? My Basilisk setup refuses to run this, but I got it to run with SheepShaver.

Nice, the PC partition is included, too. Smile
