This game works with: SheepShaver,

"New York City.

It's tougher than a two-bit steak, more dangerous than a beautiful woman, and more unforgiving than a pair of burlap undershorts. It takes guts to make it in this town, but nobody ever called you a least not twice.

It was all going so well... Carlo Two Toes decided to retire to Miami Beach, (well, okay, maybe you helped him make up his mind a little - he used to be Carlo Three Toes afterall), but he left you his sweet little bookmaking operation before he went.

The dough was rolling in, your wiseguys were happy as clams in linguini, and you finally found a fedora that fit your unusally shaped head. Life was good.

Then that rat, Don D'Oro started moving in on your rackets on the docks, and Miss DeMeaner developed a thirst for your bootlegging business in Brooklyn... You knew it couldn't last; there are just too many Bosses in this town who want a piece of your action. Well, you'll just have to do something about that, won't you? This is New York after all, this is...

I've uploaded the update available from Patches Scrolls, and some package scans I took from my recent eBay find. (The game's manual is actually on the game CD.) Supposedly this game supported extra maps and such, but I don't see any links to any for download, at least not on the archived Freeverse pages. If anyone knows where to find any (other than what's included on the CD), please let us know here.

Also, this game requires its CD to be mounted in order to play, but it seems mostly to be taken up by demos and a large invisible file. If anyone knows how to hack it down to a reasonable size, please speak up in these comments.

Thanks for this donation!
Seems to work very well with 64bit SheepShaver hosts (Snow Leo, W7 Ultimate, Mandriva) and MacOS 8.6 or higher. Sound is a bit choppy with W7U, but that may be an issue of my sound chip.
I uploaded a img file here:
The file can be joined/inflated with Stuffit7 or 5 and mounted in the Finder.
