Baron: The Real Estate Simulation is one of four financial sims released by Blue Chip Software, along with Millionaire (stocks), Tycoon (futures trading), and Squire (financial planning).
In Baron you speculate on real estate, buying and selling properties in California, Texas, Kansas, Florida, and New York. To stay profitable, you'll have to follow the news and spot market trends while keeping your tenants happy. Home of the Underdogs founder Sarinee, herself an investment banker, called it "undoubtedly the best simulation of this industry I have ever seen."

What I did for this exact transferring problem was to copy (download) this .sit file into SoftMac running Mac OS 7.5
there, I would extract all files out of .sit and mount the .dsk making the files visible
and then just copy them to a shared MacHD between SoftMac and MiniVmac..that´s all
Once you have SoftMac setup, it is very easy and convenient to transfer files onto Mini Vmac
since SoftMac can read and mount MiniVmac HD
thus avoiding headaches due to the problems extracting .sit files within Vmac
many people don´t like or use SoftMac but I´ve found it has many advantages
that is my method
Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' by 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User
Please try to inflate the file with Stuffit5 or 7, in BII or SS. You should get a Baron.dsk file, that will boot MiniVMac with a splash screen, directly into the game.
It seems to be an original copy of a 400k floppy, including System2 or lower, so no further "management" is useful or necessary. Just the same applies to Tycoon. If you would like to mount the images with BII, you can change the type to "dimg" and creator ID to "ddsk" with an utility like MiniConversion or Creator Changer.
@Bolkonskij: Can't you have MiniVMac with your OS9? I am using MiniVMac within SheepShaver occasionally.
Could anyone pls help me how to mount this game in minivmac (which I use in the Win XP environment). I used HFV-Explorer to copy the file to my virtual MacHD and extracted the .sit file with StuffIt which then creates a .dsk file. This .dsk file, however, is somewhat useless as I can neither run it directly in minivmac/Basilisk nor extract it to a virtual floppy disk. I had the same problem with Tycoon and some other files posted here. Thx for any help in advance!
That's the kind of games I loved to play in my younger years. What a pity it doesn't work in OS 9 anymore
