"Are you prepared for battle? Are you ready for Avara? With its fast and furious action and unique 3D game play, you can't help but be absorbed in the game. Avara's real-time graphic action will start your heart pounding as you see your opponent gracefully bound across the terrain and quickly swoop in behind you. Using both the mouse and keyboard, you have complete 360 degree control to counter-maneuver and quickly target your enemy. Players aren't limited to "sliding" around in predetermined mazes like in many of the older 3D games. Avara's maneuverability is unique, allowing its warriors to freely climb, jump, and run on any of the structures in the battlefield."
Includes singleplayer and multiplayer levels. Additional levels can be downloaded.

Last I heard (late last year), their finance guy Bernard still works part time. They occasionally update their utility software to keep it running on current versions of macOS. Andrew Welch (president/founder) does biz/dev consulting and custom design/programming/webdev nowadays, I believe using the Ambrosia name. I'm not aware of any other current staff, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a couple of people helping with this consulting and development work.
I didn't press him on the matter when I interviewed him for my book, but Andrew told me that his motivation for cutting staff and stopping active Mac software development was that he was tired of being a manager. He likes to make stuff and be more hands on with projects, but he found he couldn't do that with the company structure they had. He's much happier now that he gets to build stuff and "figure out cool ways to do things".
I found out ambrosia web site only works in Tenfourfox browser. There web site don't works in Safari 5.0.6. You have paste the link in your Tenfourfox to make it work. The web site is working now.
Yeah, some friends and I have been talking about this for a while. It's pretty much one guy left fulfilling orders.
I think Ambrosia software have gone out of business. I look up in google. I found out ambrosia is letting go some there workers. The google hint ambrosia is going out business. The link to their website is now gone.

Very happy to announce that after 15 years of trying, Avara is finally open source. Big thanks to Juri for making this happen.

Played the heck out of this, both singleplayer and multiplayer! In fact, it was the first multiplayer game I really got into.
This game is great, hard to master, and makes you feel like piloting a giant combat-chicken!
