A side-scroller starring an Australian sugar glider that just happens to be a pirate. Yargh.
There was also a Windows version.
CompatibilityIt does boot up on SheepShaver with Mac OS 8.6, but it goes WAY too slow to play the game at all.
Comments
That's not really a Sheepshaver problem though. The game ran far too slow on my old beige G3 as well, but was okay on a G4 iBook.
This was a uDevGames 2003 contest entrant, all were moreso demos rather than full size commercial games, & intended for OSX only. It's only by chance this works in OS9. My Mac requires a working GPU for this game to run in OS9, even though the game is 2D and ought not need the GPU. And there was something else about it in OS9, it ran crazy wrong maybe slow too with millions of colors but ran right with thousands of colors. In OSX, color depth isn't an issue.
Platformer with all the classical elements, + exceptional graphics. There is a "sprint" powerup, and other powerups. Game has demoplay if you let it wait on the menu without using your mouse. Unfortunately there is an execution "leak" bug, performance gradually slows down as it plays, really only noticeable if you (accidentally?) let it run demo for many many hours.
Now uploaded here
Yes, it's no longer listed at
http://felinegames.blogspot.de/p/games.html
Anyone catched the game, previously, to upload it now here?
Link's down :'(
No reason to lol
, er,
To un-pack .sit archives, you may need 'The Unarchiver' or Stuffit Expander.
To run a carbonized game on Mac OS 9, you'll need to install CarbonLib, as already has been discussed.
This is a pretty well done side-scroller, but it lacks the ability to sprint, making it much more difficult than it has to be.
The voice acting is good for a laugh, but then it gets annoying.
nothing wrong with having a real macintosh. =]
I have OS X right now. The older macbooks need parts (I got them like that on ebay) and I love this website and all of its vintage abandonware...
This is a sit file. I was unable to open the sit file so far on OS X.
And it can be opened on OS Classic but not played on OS Classic ???? lol.
; )
If it requires CarbonLib, it can be played Mac OS X native.
See developer page at http://homepage.mac.com/felinegames/
Probably going to need a real Macintosh to enjoy this one. Too recent a game to work in the emulators.
If trying to run in classic Mac Os, you might need to install CarbonLib and OpenGL if you haven't already. Here's a couple of links:

Those are for 8.5. Stuff for Mac OS 9 is on the same page.
