Tips for going online with PPC and 68k browsers

Hey, I came across Loband, which tries to simplify web pages!

I know I've teased about portals and using VNC before, but I wonder if anyone has found any other online translators that may convert modern websites into simpler ones or other novel ways and/or tools to use your old classic macs online? I tried using MacLynx on OS 9, but I couldn't figure out how to surf the web! I even dropped an URL on it and got nowhere.

Not sure it is what you are looking for, still this proxy is doing great with MacWeb and System 7 where loband doesn't work: https://github.com/tghw/macproxy

There's also https://github.com/tenox7/wrp
if you want a "full" experience.

Very nice gateways to parse modern websites to older ones! Of the two, the one suggested by fogWraith really delivers a 'full' experience solution, wow!

I would have responded sooner, but when my 2400c died, I had no other Internet-capable Classic Mac. Now that I got internet working on my emulated Mac, I can look at setting this up for it!

Thanks again for the links!

Okay, tried it and it works perfectly! Smile Here's iCab browsing the Garden

I was trying to get places with my comet, but a much bigger issue cropped up Sad the power adapter kept sparking when I tried to plug it into my 2400c, and now its battery stopped charging and it's just about completely drained now. I think the powebook's power input got shorted out.
