Sierra Games Timing Problem

Sorry to keep clogging up the forum with my problems, but I was wondering if anybody has found a way to overcome the timing problem which renders the early to mid 1990s Sierra games unplayable.

On games such as Leisure Suit Larry 1, 5, and 6 they all exhibit the same problem. When a significant event such as buying the whiskey or getting run over occurs, the game gets stuck in a loop replaying the animation for said event. I have tried applying the Sierra Patch but it does not make any difference.

On my PowerBook G3 Wallstreet, the games sort of work as sometimes the timing bug does not happen (it usually does). On my 500MHz iBook, none of the games work properly, LSL6 does not even start and the other two have very garbled sound. If anybody has any info about how to address this problem, any help would be very much appreciated.

If running the games under 9.2.x make a test under 9.0.4 or earlier version.
Else; this place seems to have a lot of info on the subject;

On running the games on my OS8.6 Powerbook, all but LSL1 run fine. The sound is perfect and they only exhibit slight non-gameplay-hindering problems (won't advance in intro sequences). LSL1 has the timing problems. Unfortuantely I couldn't find any help on the Sierra Help site, but I might register on their forums and ask the same questions again.

For LSL1, you could also try ScummVM (Mac version runs well with).
