Was PoC ever ported to the Mac?

Not that I know. What makes you think there could have been a port?

Because it was a successful game back in the day, and most of those were ported across platforms.

Ah, yes, I see. Well, a quick Google search shows it was initially an Amiga game released in 1987. That's the time John Sculley was Apple's CEO. He did what he could to drive games off his "serious business platform". (as if business people would not play a game too)

Add the fact that the Mac was simply very different to program for, compared to other systems of the time. Many companies would shy away from porting stuff.

The game looks very nice. Seems like a game that would perfectly fit the Macintosh. Do you know if the source code has been made available?

Hmmm, that would make for a very interesting project, indeed!

I know that the game was ported to Android, so the code must be "out there". And yes it is a very nifty piece of software, as it shows you a side of ship & cargo management that seldom appears in the news (cost of ship repairs vs. threats of piracy vs. dangers of storms & political upheavel vs. ....)
