Does anyone have experience with trying to run older B&W games that were made for System 6 and earlier on OS 7? Specifically on an LC 575? I'm looking to consolidate my Apple collection by getting an LC all in one with an Apple IIe card, but I'm worried that older Mac games are going to break on OS 7 and the faster processor.
Is there a list of the more popular games that don't like OS 7? I'm mostly interested in hearing about RPGs and Adventure games.
Away from older B&W games, the Apple IIe card would be a very nice addition to run Apple ][ stuff.
Most of these Mac B&W games don't like larger screen sizes than 9" (512 x 342 pixels) ,
but some of them would run within a window as well.
So it's the screen size more than the OS that's the issue? Interesting, but I suppose that makes sense. In all honesty I think I'll stick to my SE/30 for Mac games and my IIgs for Apple IIe stuff.
I thought I could check with Transylvania, but I detected now the game runs fine in Basilisk (640 x 480) as well.
King's Quest 3 displays very futzed graphics if I try to run the game in Bas.
I think Bane of the Cosmic Forge doesn't like OS 7. But there's a nice OS X PPC DOSBOX port of it.
That's strange given BotCF's release date. No big loss to me, I never liked the Wizardry series after V.
