Mac Crashes When Exiting Games

I'm having an odd problem with some games. Whenever I exit a game, System 6 gives me an error and I have to reboot. The error is either Address Error (most common) or Coprocessor Not Installed (less common). Some games like the ICOM adventures exit just fine with no error. All the games start up and play just fine, it's only when exiting back to the desktop I get the error.

Here's some more info:

Macintosh Classic with 4MB
System 6.0.8
Games being played from a 1GB hard drive
The only add-ons I have installed are a CD Rom driver and the MAGIC menu for stuff-it.

Any ideas?

Do you use the Finder, or the MultiFinder ?

Just thinking that the games may be trying to restart the Finder, and if you're using MultiFinder it's not going to like it.

Just regular Finder I think. Is Multi-Finder installed in the base 6.0.8 load?

I'm not sure, it maybe became "available in System 6.0.4, Finder is called Finder, MultiFinder is called MultiFinder, in your System Folder. By Mac OS 7 MultiFinder was just called Finder, without it you could only run one app at a time.

In System 6, take a look to the 'Special -> Set Startup' menu item.

It's set to just finder. I guess I can try reinstalling System 6 and see what happens.

I reinstalled System 6.0.8 and that seems to have worked. Something must have been corrupted.
