[Found] Artifice DesignWorkshop

Looking for DesignWorkshop from Artifice. It was an entry level CAD program, I have discovered while (re)watching some Computer Chronicles.

I guess it was a pretty obscure software, even if it was showcased on Computer Chronicles because I couldn't find much about it outside of... its original website Shock To my surprise the website is still up, but sadly, it is missing bunch pages and the website that hosted the files to download is long gone.

Hoping that someone archived at least the lite version of it. Would really like to give it a spin, because it seems like a perfect tool for a little project I am working on.

There was a free lite version which you can view the old web page for it (Web Archive) but the page to the download link requires registering your details before downloading, which of course will be broken.

It does have tho' a page of 3D models in in DXF, DesignWorkshop, or 3DMF format which may be of interest. Those I tested were still able to be DL'd.

In the meantime, someone else here may have a full copy available.

[Edit] There is a copy of DesignWorkshop Lite v1.8.3 on the MacAddict 28 CD-ROM, DL from the IA.

Great, and thank you, mrdav.

That "Lite" version on the MacAddict CD, is a demo with limited capabilities as it turns out. CrippleWare Tongue

Was there a version on MacAddict CDs during the era where they were distributing locked full versions of software? The ones that the MacAddict Hacker zine had patches for?

Not that I'm aware of. I checked the MacAddict CD database, of issues 1 - 114, from MA 114 (2006) and it only found the one item on issue 28, linked above.

Thank you both!

I would be happy only with the Lite version, as I only want some screenshots (from my understanding, you can open whatever in Lite, but save only small scenes), but a full version is even better!
