Turbosynth v 2.0. Turbosynth is a sample editor with simple time stretching, filtering and delay effects. Waveforms can also be created and edited, looped etc. Many samples and waveforms can be mixed together with effects to create very unique sounds.
V2.0 is the last version with hardware sampler support. Hardware mac required with midi interface to save/load from sampler. V2.0 runs on 68k machines/emulators.
V2.21x3 can run on 68k and PPC machines/emulators.
The download contains V2.0, V2.21x3, audio files, waveforms and example Turbosynth files.
V2.22 added SampleCell support and dropped hardware sampler support.
Added V1.0 demo from 1988 (turbosynth.cpt_.hqx) for people on older macs. Seems that some functions are disabled or not implemented yet? Please update or comment below if you have more info!

re. 2.23...yes i didn't look but does that make an idiot??
Turbosynth - 'Synthesis Software for Now People'
I have managed to get the diffuser module working on OS7.5, Quadra700, 32 bit modewith the Audiomedia II card. Without a dsp card the module is 'hashed out'
I also have a 2.0 on the same machine but have to run 24bit (go to memory manager) and use it via my Nubus Digidesign Sound Accelerator ii card.
The manual, by the way, covers 2.2 in an addendum at the back.
2.2 is stereo whereas 2.1, the one that works with samplers direct is mono
SoftSynth is your next stop if you like Turbosynth.
Added 2.22 for SampleCell
Someone told me Turbosynth 2.23 used to be hosted on this website. What happened? Does anybody have it?
I just downloaded and inflated the archive and have verified that the archive contains applications Turbosynth 2.21x3 and Turbosynth™ 2.0. Maybe something went wrong when you tried to inflate the .sit file ?
EDIT: I have also just verified that both applications launch OK
The turbosynth 2.0 files seems to be missing the application. There is a version of 2.21 floating around but it doesn't support external samplers.
Does anyone have a working copy of turbosynth 2.0?
I like the manual scan.
Cool!
I think this should be moved to the page http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/turbosynth-221and that page renamed Tubosynth 2.xEDIT: I have consolidated the two pages into the one here.
Love turbosynth!
