When Bare Bones retired BBEdit Lite in 2001, they introduced TextWrangler as a shareware "lite" Text Editor in it's place. With the shareware fee dropped on the release of TextWrangler version 2.1.3, TextWrangler remained as a freeware "lite" offering from Bare Bones until 2016 with the final release of TextWrangler version 5.5.2 (and still available for download at Bare Bones). Now only BBEdit remains, as a 30 day, fully operational editor. After which, reverts to become equivalent to a TextWrangler-like freeware editor. BBEdit of course can still be purchased to enable all features.

These are the freeware versions of TextWrangler no longer supported or available from the Bare Bones site:
