Guides on emulating older applications

With Pro Import AE for Adobe After Effects, your digital desktop has never been more powerful or complete. Translating a sequence from an Avid® or Final Cut Pro 7 editing system, or a project from Apple's Motion takes just seconds, importing all your media and clips in one step. Effects are translated and recreated for you and your timeline becomes a composition in After Effects, ready for you to take your vision to the next level.

More details can be found at the original product website.

Adobe acquired the father-son team behind this product to integrate it as a feature in After Effects CS6. The original plugin for After Effects CS3 through CS5.5 was made free for a limited time as this took place.

Architecture: PPC x86 (Intel:Mac)

I verified this on 10.5.8 with a fully patched AE CS3. It works fine there.

There isn't an explicit Mac OS X requirement in the binary, but I do see it expects a minimum of AppKit 949, which is NSAppKitVersionNumber10_5 (Leopard). Tiger users are probably out of luck.

It has a G4 binary slice too, so it should work there as well.

Fails to load with AE CS3 on 10.4 unfortunately.

I felt it would fall under this exception. Feel free to archive it until 2021 if not:

“If the software is free or shareware and is no longer available from the author's site (or author's designated download site[s]).”

Thanks for this one, but does it match the "10 years" rule or not ?
