Macromedia released this as a Carbonized app for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
New and very welcome features include Brushes, Master Pages, Print Area, and a Navigation Panel for adding links, names, and adding actions or notes to objects. It adds new illustration tools such as a “Smart cursor” Pen, Bezigon Tools and a Contour Gradient Fill. (Wikipedia)
It replaces the aging Mac GUI with a new, common Macromedia GUI Interface. Several tools were added or renamed to match Flash tools. On the Flash 5 export side, FreeHand 10 introduces a Flash Player window to preview SWF movies within FreeHand.
FreeHand 10 has an animated tutorial and reference system included in the app.
Also bundled with Flash 5 in a "Flash 5 FreeHand 10 Studio" bundle. Version 10.0.1 is included in Macromedia Studio MX (2002), which is allegedly a slightly crippled version based on the results of a patent lawsuit brought by Adobe against Macromedia regarding the design of FreeHand 10's tabbed panels.

I should have seen that, thank you. Senior moment.
The third screenshot seems to reveal the serial number
What do we input when asked for a serial number?
Just added the German version. Hope this is not already elsewhere in the Garden. I've not tested it...
