@EliotChignell: With this one you really do need to read the fine manual. Essentially you need to reformat & partition your HD following the instructions provided, before you can install this. I don't think that I would want to install it however, given its age (not that age stops me from running older Mac OS's tho').

LinuxPPC 2K (especially Q4) was my favorite PPC Linux of all time. It just seemed to work beautifully and I preferred it to YellowDog. I wish that it had continued development but sadly it ended about then.

I ran it on a beige G3 desktop, a Rev B model, meaning this Mac had master/slave support for the IDE drives. IIRC, I had Mac OS on one drive and ran Linux on the other.

How exactly do we install this? I'm confused. I boot up linux and go to the installer but I cannot install linux 6.1 (redhat). Please help me. BTW I have a Power Macintosh G3 Beige Desktop.

The iMac G4 didn't come out till January 2002, you would definitely need something newer than this. If you want to try an old disto, Yellow Dog would be a good bet (maybe v2.2 and newer), I found a mirror with ISOs:

Is there any way of knowing the hardware support for something like an original 700MHz G4 "sunflower" iMac ??
