Yes, as PowerFPU is PPC only, there is no choice otherwise (AFAIK SoftwareFPU is the only FPU emulator for 68k Macs lacking an FPU).
@MTT Oh, I thought SheepShaver would freak out with PowerFPU somehow (considering it freaks out even with anything MMU-related, though that's a separate issue). But if it won't, then definitely that's far more recommended, as you stated.
I guess SoftwareFPU's usefulness must be exclusive to 68k machines (real or emulated) lacking an FPU, then.
Actually, PowerFPU is the FPU emulator to use in preference to SoftwareFPU on PPC & SheepShaver, being more than 10x faster in emulated 68k FPU performance.
@24bit I figure SoftwareFPU would probably make it work under SheepShaver. (There's also PowerFPU, but I think that wouldn't work on SheepShaver).
According to NativeChecker, the version here is 68k only.
The application does indeed look for a FPU, so a default SheepShaver setup will not work, but Basilisk II does fulfil the FPU request when FPU is enabled in the Basilisk II preferences.
I think that this is the first FAT version of Infini-D for Mac 68K with FPU and native PowerPC support
There you are.
I don't have a machine with an FPU, so anyone else who would like to get a screenshot of this and post it is more than welcome to.
