Reciprocating Engines. Where would we be without them? Here is a set of (shareware) educational HyperCard Stacks that demonstrate just how Gasoline, Diesel and Steam engines work, with descriptions, discussion and animation.
The intent of these stacks is to illustrate the similarities, differences, advantages and disadvantages of these three different types of engines. Discussion stacks are included to provide more detail, explanation and comment where appropriate. A glossary to terms and references are included.
Animation of these stacks is accomplished by clicking and holding down the mouse on the "run" button on each animated stack. This causes hypercard to repeatedly flip through the stack, each of which contain up to 48 cards. The engine can also be run forward or backwards with the arrow keys.
Archived as ".sit" using StuffIt v3.6 for pretty good backwards compatibility.

Minimum hardware requirement is a Mac Plus.
