Guides on emulating older applications

OS X port of the popular Commodore Amiga emulator, UAE. This version is special as it is the last binary distribution for Snow Leopard (10.6).

Architecture: PPC x86 (Intel:Mac)

Despite being intel binaries, this version has been mentioned to successfully compile on Leopard (10.5) PowerPC.

FS-UAE continued to get unofficial PPC 10.5 builds until late 2019.

Did some digging, found some unofficial builds. Unfortunately there's no GUI config app, it required QT5 libraries, and builds stopped it needed a newer version of SDL 2.

No PPC 10.4 version?

There are quite a few Amiga games wrapped into a Pashua shell, relying on FS-UAE to run.
That way, all the tidbits a given game wants are already in place.
The wrappers will include parts of the Amiga Kickstart, so its hard to tell whether it would be wise to store them here. The game files themslves being a story of their own.

The problem with UAE is that is so fiddly to get working - each game or application has a different set of requirements, meaning you constantly have to tweak the settings. That's largely due to the Amiga itself though and the silly "chip" vs "fast" RAM mess. Sad
