FocusWriter is a popular open source distraction free writing application.
It basically gives you a nice blank canvas with not too many distracting button bars, formatting options, etc.
The app dropped support for PowerPC some time around version 1.4.2, but this is the latest PPC download I've been able to find short of rebuilding it from the source code.
CompatibilityMac OS X 10.4.x or higher

Darn, I went digging and it looks like I'd just got confused by the WordPress layout. 1.3.5.1 was indeed the last release before he announced dropping PPC support. It's possible later versions will still compile, but at least official support ended with the one you found.
That's a pretty good guess, then. It makes it encouraging to try compiling 1.4.2 from source and test in on PPC machines.
Awesome! Thanks for that. I'll have to install that update right away.
And yeah, the 1.4.2 number is partly a guess. On his old blog, the announcement for dropping PPC support was right after the post announcing 1.4.2, though I didn't dig much more to figure out whether that's the version that dropped it or if it still supported it.
I did a bit of research and discovered this date is when the app was last distributed as PPC-compatible and also 10.4-compatible. That is version 1.3.5.1, which is quite ahead of version 1.3.1 uploaded here, but also not as far as version 1.4.2 or anything.
Many releases are tagged in the GitHub page, in case anyone wants to do some digging for the true latest version and recompile it from source code, whether that's version 1.4.2, an earlier version or a later version: https://github.com/gottcode/focuswriter (This page made recompiling it sound simple, at least for versions 1.4.x.)
I have uploaded version 1.3.5.1 to this page and changed its name to 1.x for now.
