And, uploaded. Hopefully that helps.

Checking out the full set of disks, there's definitely some that look bad. The Soundtrack content along with the LiveType disks are giving the installer some problems.

I'll see if I can find another set of DVDs.

You could try the equivalent DVD image for Final Cut Express HD 3.5, which might be identical.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were. LiveType was one of those apps that Apple had plans to sunset, but user demand kept it in Final Cut Studio.

I'm not exactly sure why the content DVDs were left out of FCE 4. Maybe that was a cost cutting measure.

Live Type Media 1 seems to be damaged. Installation stops shortly after it gets done with a few packages. Cant test the Live Media 2 unless the Installer can do its job. Pacifist would be a alternative to install manually and find the package and skip it.

No problem. It took longer than I thought it would to get all of the images up, but it's all ready now.

Thanks for completing this page, spending money time and bandwidth!
Images from the DVD era are huge and time consuming on a poor upstream.

I just got the complete fcs2 box set off of ebay. Itll take me a little time to image the disks and upload them but I can definitley get all the missing pieces for this page.

edit: I just got the first third disk up from my FCS2 box set. The other disks are already imaged, I will be uploading them over the next week or so.

Thanks Protocol_7, didn´t hear from you for a long time. Wink
I did fire up my old T60 meanwhile, running 10.6.7 and the FCS2 installer works, kind of.
On the T60 an instance of Final Cut Pro 6 was already installed, so the apps of Final Cut Studio 2 were "updated" without issues. On my T60, the app is Universal Binary, as expected.
As all media DVDs are missing, I had to cancel the install procedure.

Maybe the original uploader is kind enough to add the missing media some day.

I wonder if this FCS2 is an upgrade rather than a full install, that would explain the missing serial.

PowerPC isn't required at all to install or run FCP2. Have a look at this file: /System/Library/CoreServices/ and look for the entries related to FCP2. This is what is blocking install by claiming that PPC support is needed. Removing those allowed it to run on 10.7 but I don't know if it would still work on Mavericks.

Thanks for preserving this gem!
The installer refuses working in Mavericks - telling I cant run PPC apps any more - no surprise.
Snow Leo is not working for me either, the main app can´t be installed.
When I try to check the Final Cut Pro checkbox I´m getting an error message that I should upgrade a previously installed version of FCP first.
As I don´t have Final Cut Pro installed on that rig, it looks like a dead end.

This is kind of funny as Final Cut Studio is targeted at G4/G5 and Intel CPUs running 10.4.9 or higher.
Maybe just a glitch on my side?
