For System 7.0 - 7.6 - Mac OS 9

When Claris Corp. was dissolved (while FileMaker Pro was at version 4.0), a new company, FileMaker Inc., was formed to focus on further FileMaker Pro development and distribution.

This is the (rare) first released FileMaker Pro version 4.1v1, made by the new FileMaker company. - Mainly it's the new company's rebadging of Claris FileMaker Pro 4.0, but along with several updates and bug fixes added.

This DL includes the full Macintosh FileMaker Pro 4.1v1 install, plus FileMaker Pro 4.1v3 Update. It consists of a Disk Copy 6.3 image file in a StuffIt 5.5 ".sit" archive.
MD5 checksum & filename: b6186c45c8a4057efd0afa084f889662 *FileMaker_Pro_41_img.sit

This copy of 4.1v1 was located on and sourced from the "Yum! CD-ROM May 1999". The updater to 4.1v3 was sourced elsewhere and included in with this DL.

First, mount the extracted image and then install from the enclosed Disk Copy 6.3 image file "FileMaker Pro 4.1.img". Second, run and apply the "FileMaker Pro 4.1v3 Updater" once you have completed the first install.

This install does not ask for your personal info, or for a serial. So none is required.

Compatibility

Final FileMaker Pro to run on M68000 CPU's

Thanks, cbone. Yes, I was surprised and elated to stumble upon this rare version.
I didn't think that I would ever see it here Wink

This is brilliant!

I've been so scattered I never got the chance to image a CD with 4.1 on it. I have to make sure I don't lose it. But in the spirit of Apple's earlier software, many software titles did not impose serial codes or licensee details.

And as I understand it, FMP 4.1 is the last version to run on 68k Macs. Also, it brings instant and custom web publishing capabilities, importing several versions of ms excel spreadsheets, support for either developing or using databases in kiosk mode and/or custom menus, depending if either standard or developer editions are used.

So FMP 4.1 has a developer ed then, right? I often wondered about that Innocent

Again, what a brilliant find, Mike!
