Images of floppy disks mirrored from the Internet Archive. Original page description reproduced below:
These are two distinct floppies that both contain the same version of an Ethernet Driver for the Apple Macintosh.
Both disks have exactly the same content but I still uploaded both because I think they are probably broken (the KryoFlux log files reported multiple errors and the resulting image files look very empty).
Maybe some usable data can be salvaged from them.
Also from inside the image files:
- "Sonic Systems, Inc. Ethernet Series Release Notes. January 20,1995"
- "This installs EtherTalk Phase 2 (version 2.5.4) and the Ethernet driver for the Nubus/LC/IIsi ethernet card. If you are doing a custom install, be sure to install AppleTalk version 58.1 as well."
- "This installs EtherTalk Phase 2 (version 2.5) and the Ethernet driver for the SE ethernet card. If you are doing a custom install, be sure to install AppleTalk version 58.0 as well."
From the image files I think it's supposed to be a driver for the following devices:
- the Centris 650, Centris 610 or Quadra 800 Built-in Ethernet driver
- the Quadra 840AV Built-in Ethernet driver
- the Centris 660AV Built-in Ethernet driver
Comments
I suspect that these damaged floppy images are for a series of third party ethernet cards, particularly the reference to "Sonic Systems, Inc. Ethernet Series".
The built-in Ethernet drivers for the Macs above already ship as extensions with System 7. No additional software required.
