Guides on emulating older applications

This stuffed file includes an installer and various versions of the SuperVideo control panel, SuperPower extension, manuals and other bits and pieces. It allows one to configure the various SuperMac graphics cards. I have a SuperMac Thunder/24 in my IIfx at the moment.

This file runs contrary to best practice (i.e. installers in original images only) but it works and so I'll wait until one of the moderators chides me.

The file was stuffed with DropStuff 6 and should be openable with any StuffIt Expander 6.0 onwards. Apologies to anyone downloading this on their Mac II.

I have scanned the file for viruses with Virex 6.1.

Update 8/2020:

Dates in this archive range from 1989 to 1995. Hardware support dates back to 1980s-era SuperView SE cards for the Macintosh SE.

Versions of the main SuperVideo CDEV range from 2.49 to 3.1.

In general:

SuperVideo is a CDEV that replaces (version 2.x) or extends (version 3.x) the Monitors control panel, providing both standard (depth-switching, monitor arrangement) and SuperMac-specific features such as pan & zoom, GWorlds RAM, QuickDraw acceleration, and hardware adjustment of SuperMac montiors.

SuperPower is an INIT that provides PowerMac compatibility for graphics accelerators.

SuperMac DD INIT smooths out the usage of SuperMac video boards in Duo Docks by writing configuration changes to disk that would normally be lost when PRAM is cleared upon eject.

Architecture: 68k PPC
