Have you ever wanted to send a letter to someone, on a disk, but you weren't sure what word processor they had? Have you wanted to put your own documentation on a disk for others to read and print without worrying about word processor compatibility? Well, now you have it: DOCMaker, a winner of several MacUser® Shareware Awards and used by most of the Macintosh based online electronic magazine publishers!

DOCMaker is an application for the Macintosh™ which creates stand-alone, self-running document files. It features 'scrollable' and 're-sizable' windows, graphics, varied text styles and fonts, and full printing capability. The stand-alone files are self-executing applications which you may distribute to others to read and print. No other application is required! This gives you the ability to distribute documents and information widely with no knowledge of the end-users' Mac configuration or software. Perfect for making redistributable, self-contained READMEs with your apps.

    Added v4.8.4.
Fixes a bug that caused pop-up menu problems under Mac OS 8.5, and each chapter of the documents may now have their own background color.

Anyone have DocMaker's direct ancestor, "The DOCter"? Version 2.30 is from 1988, also by Mr. Wall and Green Mountain Software and appears to have had an Rx theme with the icons.

    EDIT: Spelling...
