Desktop Mgr (ie. Desktop Manager) is a pre-System 7 INIT/extension that allows desktop mounting of CD-ROMs and other volumes in System 6 when one might otherwise receive this error:

"Please unlock the disk "{disk-name-here}" and try again. The desktop file couldn't be created."

This extension solves that annoying error when trying to read self-burned discs, as well as locked floppies made with System 7.

Additionally, some file serving applications may require Desktop Mgr. It also prevents desktop rebuilds when swapping disks back and forth between System 6 and System 7.

Exactly what I needed for my LC on 6.0.8.

This is an essential System 6 extension, running a Mac SE and an Apple CD300 here. It actually makes it possible to burn discs on my MDD and read it on the SE.
