DeskPicture is a shareware desktop wallpaper application for early Mac OS X.
From Archive.org
DeskPicture is a handy utility that makes it easy for you to display pictures on your desktop and manipulate them according to your taste.
Once you've placed one or more pictures on your desktop, DeskPicture provides options for adjusting their appearance.
In general, DeskPicture offers many of the same functions as drawing applications for moving pictures and changing their size, so if you've ever used that type of application, you should have no problems working with DeskPicture.
From the website:
Doesn’t Mac OS X already have desktop pictures?
Well, Mac OS X certainly lets you place a single picture on your desktop. That’s nice, but...
DeskPicture lets you do a lot more including:• Change pictures on a schedule automatically
• Place multiple pictures on each screen
• Control the size and placement of each picture
• Make pictures translucent

(v10.01, v10.02)
CompatibilityVersion 10.01 (released in 2002) was tested in a VirtualBox virtual machine running OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) with Rosetta. The application will open, but it doesn't appear to work. Opening an image does not appear to place anything. May be restricted to OS X 10.3 or earlier?
Version 10.02 (released in 2006) is a Universal Binary and opens and runs in at least OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) but, like 10.01, it also doesn't appear to work, albeit with limited testing.
