This app works with: Mini vMac

ConcertWare+ is a music composition program. It is rumored to be the first program to offer music notation printing for the Macintosh, though I have been unable to verify this. Other than the music notation, it also offers a playback program, and a program to create "instruments," similar to those found in synthLAB, a program bundled with GS/OS 6.0.1 for the Apple IIGS. It also sports MIDI support, but this feature could not be tested via Mini vMac.

I'm so glad to have found this application here! Huge thanks to the original uploaders. I literally had to try out every single musical app on the Macintosh Garden since I couldn't recall the name.

My early childhood was deeply colored by playing around with ConcertWare+ 2.00 on the family Mac. It was the ultimate piece of edutainment as far as I am concerned, creating a life-long love for classical music, learning the names and works of composers, got me to save up to buy a piano, learning how to play it (in particular the Entertainer) and dabbling with composing.

You should try it out today, not least to hear renditions of classical pieces on the Macintosh 4-voice synthesizer. Smile

This works wonderfully in Mini vMac with System 6. What a wonderful piece of software!!

One observation: The notes don't show up in the playback mode (although the audio works just fine).
