This is Claris eMailer lite 1.1v4
I set it up on a PowerBook 5300c under Mac OS 7.5.3

I don't think Claris eMailer lite knows about authenticating with an SMTP server, so you'll probably need to use whatever your local network's SMTP server is instead of a remote one. This was written back when open-relay was the norm...

It's POP3 only, no IMAP. Neither does it support SSL encryption on the POP3 protocol. Also, I don't see any way of making it deal with multiple accounts short of changing all the login info in the setup by hand each time you need to switch. If you can live without these features it's quite serviceable. It is certainly doable if you control the email servers.

I found the "Internet Setup" entries to be a bit confusing.

"Account name" = internal name describing configuration. A little strange, you can only have one account... so why name the configuration?
"User name" = user name on the POP3 server
"Email address" = this is the Reply-to address
"Email account" = your email address. This also appears to where the POP3 name is taken from. So if your POP3 server isn't equal to your domain name, I don't know if you can make it work or not.
"Email password" = POP3 server password
"SMTP host" = out going server name.

I'm just hoping it won't do the 'expired' thing that the full 2.0 version did.

Edit: Replaced 'xxx 7' by 'Mac OS 7' - IIGS User
