Published by Imagine Publishing (formerly GP Publications and now Future US), the American magazine CD-ROM Today was targeted at both Windows and Macintosh users, and each issue shipped with a CD-ROM of shareware and demo programs. In August 1996, CD-ROM Today ceased publication, with two magazines taking its place: MacAddict for Macintosh users, and boot (now Maximum PC) for Windows users. (from this Wiki on the history of MacAddict)
The downloads are hybrid Mac/PC disc images of the magazine CD (called theDisc!) published in 1994. Disc images 3-6 were sourced from archive.org. The copies of #1 and #2 of theDisc! that are on archive.org are missing the Mac part and so are not used here. The copies uploaded here are hybrid CDs. Furthermore Disc #1 is a mixed mode CD: the toast image contains the Mac/PC data and bin/cue image can be used to burn a CD that also contains the audio tracks. (Note: this is not a bin/cue of an original CD but is a custom reconstructed one)
The same named magazine was produced in the UK by Future Publishing, but the content and accompanying CD-ROMs are different from that of the American magazine.
