This app works with: SheepShaver,

From the creators of Bryce...

Carrara is a full-featured 3D computer graphics application featuring figure posing and editing, as well as nature modeling, in addition to traditional modeling, animation, texturing and rendering. The software is also capable of dynamic hair and fur simulations, particle effects, soft body and rigid body dynamics...

Informations and history about Carrara can be found on Wikipedia.

A serial is included within the software archive or can be found on screenshot...

Architecture: PPC

Although a 3D card is recommended, Carrara works well without, for example in SheepShaver. However, some bugs can be encountered as this software was the very first release...

Carrara v2 - German Version (Win/Mac) might be at hand. Will dust off my personal CD's and prepare a Mac friendly file for upload.

I second the motion to post Carrara Studio 3. I looked around and couldn't find so much as a hint of this version still being sold or even just supported by a company.

Sure turtleroc, the original version 3 CD would be very welcome methinks.
As you seem to have all the bells and whistles Carrara 3 most likely deserves its own page.

Could Carrara Studio 3 be considered abandonware at this point? Came out in 2003, and I hardly think it's supported anymore. The wikipedia article on Carrara doesn't even mention PPC, PowerPC, or any version older than 8, and it's pretty much only mentioned on daz's website as nostalgia. Carrara 3 is in my opinion the first usable version, a major upgrade over v1 or 2. It runs in OS 8, 9, and X.

Carrara and Lightwave have always been my two favorite modeling/animation apps. I have several versions, including the purchased CD of Carrara 3, which I no longer really use.

YW. As my original mail account was blocked (by Apple) one year ago, you can mail me if you want for private future conversations. Smile (I have lost access to your address since...)

Thanks Franky. You did a nice job with the page methinks.
I just stumbled across the CD image when looking for something else.
Seems I really have to find a way to get rid of HTTPS now.

I would have added it to the page, but have to set up a browser with HTTP - not HTTPS first. Sad

On the archive, you have a "Tutorial" folder. I can't verify right now, but I believe it was installed on the disk with the software. Or may be u have to do a "custom" install. The arm u can see on the screenshot was rendered by myself into SheepShaver... Wink But, well, it was created from the tutorial. I hope u can find your answer in there.

Hi MacTouch, thanks a lot for the soft and the good wishes, I also wish you a sincere happy new year (recommended the Wise Men to send you a Lisa like mine and a Pro) Well apart from that I like to ask you if you have anything else provided in the Carrara CD like objects and textures. I just opened the Carrara app and appeared to be no textures nor primitive objects; it might be I've got to point to a folder or something I don't know.. Perhaps you know, thanks again

YW. I know that u were looking for it. So, I've added it, my Christmas gift to u (and for historical softwares that are missing here)... That was not so difficult, I've "tilted" when I see its name on the list of this post. Have a nice end of year, u & the community. Wink

Well, I think my arm looks beautiful here. But the light has burned some parts of my skin... Smile
