Film and video editing software compatible for Mac OS X 10.5. Version 3 is the first version of Media Composer software by Avid that does not require specialised proprietary hardware.
Download #1 is the installer disc image for Mac. The retail disc comes with both Mac and Windows versions of the software; however, I do not have a copy.
Download #2 contains instructions to avoid the requirement of a dongle to run the software. The crack only works on an Intel Mac. For PPC you will need a dongle.
See also: Avid Media Composer 6.0, released in 1995 for Classic Mac. (Clearly, Avid has reset the version numbering, presumably for Mac OS X versions)
CompatibilityPPC/Intel
Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) and 10.5.4 (Leopard)

WHYYYYYYY?
You are right. I made additional tests on a Leopard/PPC iMac and a Leopard/Intel iMac and the crack only works on the Intel Mac. I have added the relevant info to the page
I have installed Avid, then comes the reboot
then replacing SuperPro32 in /Library/Frameworks/SuperPro32.framework/Versions/A
then replacing Avid Media Composer inside the application package under Contents/MacOS
After this he ask for a dongle
System is 10.5.8 on a Power Mac G5
I will test it on a 10.6 VM in the next hour and give a feedback
EDIT: Under Snow VM it dont ask for a dongle (i get a bus error perhaps because OGL ins not available)
So it looks like the "crack" only work on Intel
It works for me (I always test that cracks work before I upload). BTW I tested in Snow Leopard. Are you sure you followed the instructions exactly?
Looks like the no-dongel patch doesn't work. SuperPro32 and AvidMediaComposer replaced but Avid wants the dongle.
I have a no-dongle patch for v. 3.1.2. However, I do not have an installer disc image for Avid Media Composer 3.1.2. If anyone has this version, please upload it to this page. I will then upload the patch.
