For Mac OS X
Guides on emulating older applications

A hard to find set of ATI SDK demos ported from the Rage 128, Radeon, and Radeon 8500 PC OpenGL demo suites. Detailed descriptions of the functionality and OpenGL extensions they demonstrate are found in the included readme.

Architecture: PPC

Tested against the publicly available Mac OS X 10.3.9 SDK with Xcode 3.1.4. All precompiled demos can be found in the build/Deployment/ subdirectory of the unzipped archive. The original sources and PBX project have all been included and should be compatible with earlier Mac OS X SDKs.

Already has all (twelve) executable "binaries", they're in the "build/Deployment" folder. They don't have icons and are PowerPC-only. These are all older than 2003 (pre-January 2002 it says) but here they were rebuilt "ported" (by "Duality"?) for newer OSX and now they work in Tiger & more. One of 'em didn't survive, as noted in the notes, "PN Triangles" fails to run, but all others are running on my ATI Radeon 9600 system. Check the notes file for keystroke commands that can be used in each demo, and move & drag the mouse around.

I'll give 5-stars because I like things that educate about how the GPU behaves internally, and effort was put into modernizing these demos. Plus, they ain't 'bloatware' like ATI's next sets of demos.
