Here are the images from the four disks that came with the Macintosh Portable model 5126.
The disks are quite rare and I couldn't find any images on the web, so I bought them. And now they've been brought over to you Wink

This includes the Apple Tour of the Macintosh Portable. The disk image will mount on any desktop, given that you've downloaded StuffIt Expander first (or StuffIt Deluxe) but you will only be able to play the tour on the Macintosh Portable computer.

Then there is the Inside the Macintosh Portable HyperCard stack. It was designed to let you know a bit more about the computer itself. It explains how the computer is a Macintosh but also a Portable. There are nice details about the active matrix display (pictured) and about the external video adapter which unfortunately never went on sale...

Next is the Macintosh Portable Product Sampler, it contains information about apps that were specifically made for the Portable. This software from 1990 is very good, probably we've evolved that much, software speaking.

And finally you get the Portable update (for the m5126). On this disk you get an updated Portable extension, you can now adjust the brightness from that magnificent backlighted screen.

A note about the downloads available from above:
The files here were created using DiskDup+, this created the floppy images. But also StuffIt Deluxe because .image files can get corrupted while transfer.
The Archive.sit file is just a the four images in one single file.

We would like to thank everybody from for their help these past years. Consider this as a gift.

NB: Although the SE/30 computer used to make the screenshots uses a French version of SSW 7, the files are in English.

Architecture: 68k PPC

Requires either HyperCard or HyperCard Player
