Pretty good idea. The only thing you'd want to ad is to also include the 8.2.1 iTunes necessary for G3's, and the maybe previous version of QuickTime for older Graphics cards that can't run Quartz Extreme.
Is there one of these for OS X Tiger or Tiger Server (Intel)?
New version uploaded, added the X11 update.
I've recompiled the mpkg, and I'm waiting for the admins to link it back here (it's on the FTP gateway).
As for the DMG, it's based on that, I just put it in an mpkg to install it all a lot quicker than manualy starting each pkg, plus I've included iTunes since I've got some iPods that only sync with iTunes 8+
The new version will allow selection of updates, instead of just installing all or nothing. I'll add X11 in tomorrow as well, don't really wanna fiddle with it any more tonight.
I see you have these all in (I assume) a custom mkpg.
Anyhow, it doesn't seem to want to run, so I couldn't inspect this any further:
A pretty non-descript error message for sure. Typical Apple - (click to view)
There is also a very similar set of Tiger updates on the "Mac OS X for PPC (Mac OS 10)" page, at download #29 named "Tiger_Updates.dmg_.zip" (745.04 MB). There are only 2 differences that I can see, (1) it's not bundled into a custom mkpg, and (2) in your list of items above, you include "iTunes 9.2.1", whereas the #29 download on the other page doesn't, all other items in the above list are included over there. Plus no errors with the other.
Neither contain the X11 updater "X11Update2006.dmg"
It's the combo update + DVD/CD Sharing, Security Update 2009-005, QuickTime, and anything else that gets served on a fresh install of tiger from software update. I'll get a list in the description later.
Could you provide us with a complete list of what parts get updated? If it's only Apple components that get updated, then is it different from running the official 10.4.11 Combo Update?
