Guides on emulating older applications

Gives your Macintosh the Mac OS 8 Platinum interface (for OS 7).

Aaron is an extension that transforms your Mac's user interface into the Apple Grayscale Appearance, which Apple is planning to implement in thier upcoming Mac OS 8 system software release.

To use it, just drop it in your Extensions folder, or drop it on your System folder and let the Finder put it where it belongs.

To temporarily disable Aaron, hold down the mouse button while it loads at startup.

A note about the downloads available from above:
First download: Aaron 1.6.1 (Fat Binary for 68k + PowerPC)
2nd download: Aaron 1.6.1 (68k only)
3rd download: Aaron 1.5 (Fat)
4th download: Aaron 1.3.1 (Fat)

There's no need to register, or even download this. Just use the Appearance Manager for System 7. Not only does the Appearance Manager do the same thing without registration, but also enables you to run some OS 8 apps as well.

This is the only crack I could find for a previous 1.3.x version...

"Keep the Return key pressed during the computer boot up."

Give it a try with your version...

@tmm: I think your nudge-nudge-wink-wink should be very clear to your target audience. Smile

Some "Surfer's" might, or if you look in a "Box" for some cereal, or even "Buck" might be able to help you...

Trying to be as blatant and at the same time, vague Laughing out loud

Does anyone have a registration key for this? Assuming there is no way to obtain a new one of course...
