For System 6.x - Mac OS 9

The Zork Anthology includes Zork 1, 2, 3 and Planetfall.

Zork is a classic text adventure and Planetfall was one of the nicest text games. As far as available commercially, nope. In fact the Zork text games have been released as "no-cost" shareware for Z-machine interpreters. One might consider playing these games using a Z-machine interpreter instead of the stand-alone implementations. Same game but better Mac dialogs and control.

Architecture: 68k

Original interpreter 'Zoom':
Like 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' (not included in this download), you don't need to configure a Mac emulator to play these games, because 'Zoom' does the job for you, too.
For Zoom, please refer to its homepage at

Zoom hint:
To get the games recognized by Zoom, please add the extension ".z5" (without quotes) to the Zork application name.

Starting with version 2.2.0, ScummVM also runs these games.

Can this be opened / played on an iiPad Pro?

The only I can see is Frotz on the AppStore

(Thank you, Daxeria, about the hint for Windows Frotz, seen below)

Is Zoom sort of like ScummVM for the Infocom games?

Absolutely, yes! Smile

Does anyone know a current Infocom interpreter for Windows, just for compatibility?
