Zoo Tycoon is, as the title implies, a simulation game that allows the player to build and manage a zoo. The new manager starts from nothing, being given just a grass field and an entrance sign for the future zoo. He will then have to purchase animals, place them in exhibits, care for their health, and not forget about the other kind of animals - the visitors. To keep them happy, the manager should make the zoo comfortable, open restaurants, gift stands, and pet houses for children. The game features over forty animal species. It also provides background information about the animals - their classes, origins, habits, etc. (MobyGames)

Zoo Tycoon: Marine Mania is an expansion pack which requires Zoo Tycoon.

Architecture: PPC (Carbonized)

233 MHz or faster PowerPC G3 or G4
Mac OS 9.2, Mac OS X 10.1
128 MB RAM
600 MB free disk space
16 MB video card

Qemu (Screamer build) does play Zoo Tycoon, basically.
Mouse support seems to be a bit fuzzy in game play.

I've uploaded a new CD image of Marina Mania from an original CD I have. This version should work, without the installer complaining about damaged files. Interestingly, this Toast image is 25 MB larger than the old one, which may explain the damaged/missing files from the old one.

The game (1. CD) is running fine with Leopard Server in VMWare, as expected.
Maybe an alternative for all here without a Mac G3/G4.

->Keeping an eye out for working disks<----

Well the game disc is fine (I think). It certainly starts up OK. However, the expansion disc does complain about one of the game files but then allows you to continue. Whether this will be resolved by another set of discs remains to be seen. The original disc images came from bertyboy who is very experienced in all things Mac. AFAIK he made the images from his own original CDs, but you never know, something might have gone wrong.

Keeping an eye out for working disks, as well as the other expansion that isn't here (Dino Digs I believe). Great, phenomenal game, a cross between the business simulation of RCT1/2 and the natural science of classic Maxis simulations.

Only downside is that on Amazon we are talking hundreds of dollars to land these disks.
