Emulation
Guides on emulating older games

XIII is a cel-shaded first-person shooter based on the popular Belgian cult comic created by Jean Van Hamme and illustrated by William Vance. The game is loosely based on the first five comics. The main theme of the game is based on Robert Ludlum's book The Bourne Identity, and features a man who is suffering from amnesia and quite possibly involved in the recent assassination of the President of the United States. The hero knows almost nothing except that he must be important, since everyone is trying to kill him. Gradually uncovering the mystery, the hero, learns more about his secret agent past and his curious name: XIII. The player unravels clues, trying to solve a conspiracy set in an environment that breathes a comic book ambiance. Footsteps and shots are visualised in text and actions: for example, head shots are shown in a series of still images. Aside from that, the game has all the typical FPS elements: both stealth and action, more than fifteen weapons (shotguns, crossbows, rifles, ...), interaction with environmental objects and plenty of enemies in levels spread all over the world. During the game, the player can learn a number of skills such as silent walking, lockpicking and dual weapons handling. (MobyGames)

He is being correct not pretentious and if you are hurt by that fact then you need to research before making a statement of fact. He was only correcting your mis-statement.

FSAA is full Scene anti aliasing. Saying full SCREEN is one of those most trivial dashes we all make...

This is one of the FEW games that does Fullscreen-AntiAliasing and VSync on Nvidia cards. Looks like a MILLION BUCKS on my Geforce4Ti.

Shouldn't I think, but you can remove the underscore behind .zip, as it is something added by the upload system

I thank you all help you gave me on how to put DVD in parts with betterzip. Power Mac G4 Mirror door 2003 Install and Restore and Chessmaster 9000 and Myst III Collector Edition DVD are in parts with betterzip.

You don't make the disc image in parts. You make the zip file in parts. So, as I said...make the disc image first (so you will have a single image file....no parts). Then use BetterZip to compress as a zip using the menu options to divide the zip into parts.

I found a old version betterzip.
I have other questions

How do you make disc image in parts ? Do you use Toast to make a disc image in parts ?

Totally love this game. It's very unique in style, has a great story and great gameplay. Works on Snow Leo as well. I keep playing it every once in a while for the past 10 years and don't regret having bought it back in the day. Great addition, kudos to the uploader!

...When you make a change and I am in the middle of an upload, I can no longer save and I have to start the upload again

This has happened to me at times too, mrdav. Very frustrating, as "Down Under", upload speeds are abysmal.

Probably a good thing to try when faced with multiple uploads, would be to add at the top of the page a very large notice between <H1> tags, a few words like: "Please Don't Edit This Page until I have removed this notice - Warning: multiple & large uploading still in progress". Or words to that effect.

ps; An awesome and interesting genre piece you've added to the archives, mrdav. Thank you.

The obvious thing to do is add all the uploads when first creating the page (before it goes "live") ... but of course that isn't so easy when dealing with multiple large uploads like CD or DVD disc images.

When you make a change and I am in the middle of an upload, I can no longer save and I have to start the upload again

This is, completely, true. Sad
When I create a new page for a large upload, I add the first CD image in the initial upload as well.
Sure, it could fail for some other reason then...

Hi All. Please do not make any changes to this page until after I have finished uploading. When you make a change and I am in the middle of an upload, I can no longer save and I have to start the upload again (and that takes ages as uploads with my ISP are slow)

EDIT: I am all done now. So making changes is not a problem for me any more.

This game rocks... i ve played it over a Quicksilver 867mhz w/10.4 and 2 G5s w/10.5 and it runs great.
Bad thing it has been discontinued, the comic style is sth special.

I tried the demo of this a week or so ago ... it's impossible to even get out of the first building. Another of the "looks good, but plays horribly" school of game programming. Sad
