Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom is the third direct sequel in Chris Roberts' Wing Commander science fiction space combat simulator franchise of computer games, produced by Origin Systems.
Released originally in 1995, WC4 was produced on the then-unheard-of budget of USD $12 million. The majority of this budget went into the production of the game's full motion video, which were shot on actual sets instead of a bluescreen.
Set after the end of the Terran-Kilrathi War, WC4 depicted a galaxy in the midst of a chaotic transition, with human civilians, Kilrathi survivors and former soldiers on both sides attempting to restabilize their lives.
System Requirements:
- Power Macintosh
- Mac OS 7.1 or higher
- 8 MB RAM
- 256 colors
- 50 MB hard disk space
- 2x CD-ROM
The game comes on 6 CDs.

Thank you so much for thisd upload !
Added a few actual ingame screenshots. Still a great game after so many years! Enjoy!
electronic farts strikes again. ruinin peoples lives 1 game at a time.
Yes, I thought switching over from my iMac G4 lamp to the MDD I should also switch the Avatar to my new main computer.
(I love it, should have bought it so much earlier. Thanks a lot for your advice)
Did see Phantasmagoris on eBay a few months back. Far too expensive - in the £45 / $70 region. If it comes up again I'll contact and ask if I can make an offer nearer £35 / $40.
Bolkonskij, nice avatar. Is that the new arrival ?
sotosoul, unfortunately it seems these are rare and those who paid a fortune for it don't want to share their treasure (yet). I bet the only solution is to save up some money, buy them and upload them here. This is what many people here do...we look for full versions on ebay and then add those to the Mac Garden. Why don't you join our ranks?
I have been playing Phantasmagoria 1 & 2 on PCs only because I can't find these awesome games for the Mac... To be honest, I didn't even know that there were Macintosh editions until five years ago, when I found copies on ebay. Still no mac experience though due to somewhat extreme prices!!!
...so anybody!??!
These multi-cd games look awesome, its too bad my connection (where I live) is too slow : / I guess when I do get round to downloading a couple, they'l be all worth my while.
I am after one game though, which ive recently been finding out about, called Phantasmagoria. Though it does come in 7CDs which is probably the biggest yet for the site! Looks like a pretty decent game, and not to mention rare once again for the mac.
If anyone has it or knows of any sale for the mac version, thatl be fantastic to get your hands on
ive been to gog.com and they have the Windows XP compatible version only. But I also reckon thatl work in DOSBox just fine. But once again, one hell of an effort to upload
sounds like a long process, the stuffing and imaging ect. . .
Thanks again!
Just to confirm, Bolkonskij and I are not in competition to upload as many multi-cd games as possible.
This is a truly outstanding effort, 6 cd's uploaded is no easy task.
Show your appreciation by downloading, playing, posting what you like about the game, and posting your thanks for his effort. Just one big thank you is enough to make it worthwhile. Two people thanking means we'll make the effort to upload something else.
