"Tracker is a mouse-controlled vector-graphics 3D strategy game depicting an ultra-violent TV show of the future. As a contestant, the player's mission is to be the first to ever complete it successfully. The task involves commanding a fleet of Skimmers charged with destroying various groups of combat vehicles, including Cycloids, Scouts and Defenders. Short and long-range scanners are available to aid in this.

The game takes place in a maze world containing a number of distinct sectors, each of which has its own type of enemy present. The Communication Centre powers the Cycloids, and are protected by the Defenders. Once these are taken out, the Centerpoint Sector must be destroyed to complete the level."

Hi, anthonylambert,
thanks for the bit of history. Telling about is very appreciated. Smile

I developed this game (with others). It was sold ~mid 1987. The Macintosh II with color quickdraw came out about the same time. 99% of Mac users had black and white Macs then. If we had released it 6 months+ later I would of loved to do a colour version.

The publisher only printed one box for all platforms, we had Amiga, Atari ST, Mac and PC versions. The Mac and PC versions originally had stickers on the front of the boxes making it clear they they didn't get 16 colour graphics.

Read a little further down under the pictures on the back of the box: "screenshots taken from Atari ST version."

I love the colour in the screenshots on the back cover -- not compatible with System 5 eh? System 4 had colour quickdraw huh?

It all sounds a bit suspect Smile

Edit: ahah! not BACKWARD compatible with 5! runs on System 6.x, which DOES HAVE colour quickdraw!
