jackoverfull : Have a look of dgvoodoo2 on windows, you drag&drop the MS folder files and you're done. Else the Steam releas should work without too much trouble.

No idea what would cause it.

Lately I've been experienced a bit with the Windows version using VirtualBox and Wine. can't say I had much success: on VirtualBox it would need an older DirecX than what's supported and on Wine I wasn't able to get past the CD prompt.

Been wondering if I'll have to look up a PlayStation emulator.

Everything in this download's included Hints, Cheats, and Walkthru files is also found in The Game Doctor utility (available on mg) - with the exception that there are three more hidden areas in Lara's "Home" that Game Doctor tells us how to access but the files here do not. You can sneak into another section of Lara's Attic, Lara's Basement, and her "Race Course" on the Grounds outside.

May be an issue with your configuration, I presume ?

Yes, it should. In rosetta on Snow Leopard it starts but nothing happens, basically (black screen), at least for me.

TR5 can play directly under Mac OS X. I've played it with Leopard one year ago... Be careful about the 3D laser into the game as I said before, it crashes TR5 often.

Well, I've actually toyed a bit with with qemu, both with 9.2.2 and 10.3. No success whatsoever in having TR3 start. In software ode I can't get it to work at an adeguate resolution (and qemu doesn't support switching resolutions…would have to try to set it to a very low one from boot, but not even sure it's possible) and with MacGlide it fails to initialise renderer.

No big surprise, of course…Emulation is more complete than SheepShaver enough to actually start newer systems, but everything is much slower anyway, so I doubt that even if I managed to launch it it would be playable.

Still have to try with never, carbon based games, such as TR5.

Finally, I've played TRIII & IV via BootCamp. Chronicles under Leopard runs good. But when 3D Lasers are displayed, the game could crash, even when using BootCamp or on others platforms...

You're right, MacTouch: it does start, but you need to setup

ignoreillegal true

in the settings of SheepShaver.

More than running it's crawling, though, but an almost usable performance can be optained by setting everything to the lowest possible graphic settings.

As you point out, many textures are really messed up for some reason:

Oddly enough, I also tried the demos for Tomb Raider 4 and 5, while I was at it, and there the textures look fine, even if the performance is even worse. Really surprising those start at all, actually, given they are not supposed to have a software rendering option (and the configuration programs report that the games will run under OpenGL!).

Also tried to use MacGlide to emulate a vodoo card, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible with SheepShaver.

I wonder how everything would work under qemu, now that it's supposed to run OS 9, will have to set it up and try.

I have tested this game one year ago at least. But even if it didn't crashed in SheepShaver for me, graphics were not displayed correctly as there is not "strong" emulation for. But yes, TRI & II works fine with it. TR IV, however, launch good & display graphics correctly, but the game is so slow... Sad

Does it actually works on SheepShaver? TRI and II seems to work fine for me, but III crashes as soon as it tries to load the menu, I think because it actually requeres OpenGL (even if a software render option is available in the setup).

Hey guys, does anybody have a No CD or a Patch for Tomb Raider III,There was a patch for Tomb Raider but it only worked for Last Revelation (IV) and Chronicles (V) Which I completed both. Actually I am currently playing this game which is fun,but the only reason that I wanted a patch or No CD is that the game will be not in GB's i.e I have low storage space. Thank You Smile

If it comes as a Trilogy install then I think this should be regarded as a separate product and have its own page with Trilogy in the name.

Agreed. And, I've no idea if the TR1+2 from this package are original versions as sold before or altered versions.

I still own TR1, TR2, and TR3 from the Trilogy, in German. It says, if I want to install the newest version of all the games, I have to use the TR3 CD, but it comes with separate CDs for 1, 2 and 3.

Another question, if the TR3 CD contains all the games up to 3, do we create a separate entry for the Trilogy, or do we add German TR3 from that collection to this very own entry?

I have disc images of the German TR2 and TR3. But maybe it would be better to have your Trilogy copy?

Is the CD image originated from the Tomb Raider Trilogy?
I own a Non-English version of TR3, found in the Trilogy version, that installs all the games from TR1 to TR3 including its latest updates.

Edit: Answered: The english file of TR3 contains TR3 only. - IIGS User
